Dancing for Love

Logline: A young woman falls in love with her amazing salsa dance teacher but her world threatens to shatter when she discovers he is a stripper at night, working in a seedy club. Can love survive this dance?

Synopsis 

SKY WHITE is singing loudly in her car on the tune “I will Survive” as she just caught her boyfriend with someone else, on their anniversary. Speaking to her friend, she realizes she stopped living to be with this guy and wants to have fun again.  She always dreamed of learning to dance as she watched Dirty Dancing hundreds of times. 

On the other side of town, scene of a strip club where women go wild watching young men perform. PETER and his friend JOHN are among the dancers. Peter is a sensitive young man who is tired of being used for sex by women and would love to find true love.  He is a very famous ball-room dancer, is a thirty year old, just starting his own business of being a private teacher.  He had quit ballroom dancing after a throw that went wrong when his partner ended up at the hospital. 

Sky joins the dance class where Peter is teaching as his only student. They are very good together. Between dances, they rest and seem to get along quite well. Peter convinces Sky to join him in an upcoming dance competition. They also get intimate although Peter asks her to wait for sex as he wants to make sure she isn't after him only for that.

For her birthday, Sky is invited to a strip club where she recognizes Peter in the group of dancers.  She is devastated as she immediately imagines he goes sleeping with all the girls. She definitely doesn't want to relive her past relationship nightmare. During their next session, she appears cold. 

As she gets out of the building, TED, her ex jumps on her trying to get her to get back with him. Peter is about to get out at that moment, witnessing a kiss between the two. In despair, he invites another women out not realizing that Sky pushed Ted away as soon as he tried to kiss her. A lot of misunderstandings follow. 

Sky, profoundly hurt goes on blind dates found through an online dating service. Very awkward and funny situations where she meets all kinds of strange guys. Eventually, she meets GREG.

Peter can't stand the girl he wanted to date and realizes he truly loves Sky. He shares his feelings for her, hoping it won’t destroy their friendship. She confronts him about the strip dancing. They made up and as Peter is about to kiss her, she tells him about Greg.

Yet, as the cab drives her to her date, she realizes that she truly loves Peter and not Greg.
Peter gets out of the apartment, completely shattered. He drives off in haste and his motorcycle is hit by a truck. He is taken, unconscious to a nearby hospital. He falls in a coma.
Sky is about to brake it up with Greg when he admits still being in love with his ex-wife. 

She runs to Peter’s apartment but he is not there. She calls him and leaves him several messages telling him how much she regrets her being so cold and how much she really loves him. He doesn’t call her back the next day. Then two, three, four days go by. She is traumatized. 

Her friend suggests they go to find him at the strip club. There they meet John who explains it all to them. 
In the hospital, she walks to him and kisses him on the forehead, then the cheeks, the hands, the mouth; crying for his return. She tells him how much she always loved him
